Hello Denver!

The last 2 days have been a whirlwind!

My day started at 4am as I turned on my 12 cup coffee maker and went to town on my Law exam notes… my exam was at 8am! Talk about cram time! ((And for your information, I did not drink 12 cups of coffee…. I kept it to 10.))

Since my last 2 days have been living and breathing school, workouts have been far from my mind. Even though I usually use them as a study break, I was feeling so unprepared that I just wanted to plow through!

BUT… I know me. And when I get stressed/anxious/confused/mad/emotional with school, I run is needed. So I ran on Tuesday evening… a very nice autumn-ish hour run 🙂

Wednesday however, was a busy as ever and after the exam I rushed to Indianapolis (home) and had 3 hours to pack, run, and shower. Yes, I got a run in. And actually… it was pretty awful! I realized that I had not had a single sip of water all day! The only liquid was my 10 cups of coffee!! No wonder I was dizzy/light-headed/heavy-legs/etc. Body needs water!

Leaving for the airport… my gorgeous momma 🙂

Now I am in lovely Denver (aka my favorite place in the US) for a FULL 2 days of employer panels, focus groups, discussions, and happy hour socials!

The dress code is business casual. What in the world is that?!?! Ya… I think we covered that I am a running shorts/smart-wool socks/Salomon trail runners kind of gal…. Business attire is so over my head. As is dressing “professional” in general. I laughed as I packed my brand new curling iron that I still cannot use…

I mean, what I wore on the plane is pretty much my winter “nice” outfit–leggings, a costco (mens) long sleeve, and a scarf. Boom.

Greatest thing about this trip? — Hampton Inn livin’.

First thing as I walked in late last night… ahhh so relaxing!

Most of you know I have an obsession with Running, Apples, Costco, Clif Bars, and Salomon shoes… well, add Hampton Inn to that list. It is by far my #1 hotel choice! Any vacation I go on, we stay at a Hampton. They are so clean, so accommodating… and the absolute best FREE breakfast.

So I am loving life 🙂 I am not sure my running/workout schedule here yet. Hampton has a very equipped weight room which would be fun to play in before my conferences 🙂

Wow, what a rambley post! I missed you all yesterday obviously!

Have a Fantastic Thursday!

Favorite (or one of your favorite) cities IN the US (lets not get started internationally…)

-I have lots… Denver, Salt Lake City, Frisco (CO), St. George (UT)… and I guess DC and Chicago too 🙂 Running in those cities is incredible!

  1. Good luck!
I have so many US cities I like. Probably New Orleans is at the top of that list, or tied with Athens, Ohio. Also Raleigh, NC, Boston, and of course NYC! This list could go on for a while….

  2. Oh I have so many cities I love. Currently, I live in Mammoth Lakes, which is pretty beautiful. But, I do miss home since my family is there. I do have a few cities I love to travel to! This past year, I raced in Grand Rapids, MI. Beautiful. I also love Portland, OR and Seattle, WA 🙂

It’s great to see you soo happy 🙂 I know a good run can get me through stressful/busy times too. You just get the feeling and go! I hope you have THE BEST time in Denver… and figure out how to use your curling iron 😉

  4. I love staying at Hampton’s too! I completely agree with you about their yummy breakfasts. I stayed at a Holiday Inn one time that had a Starbucks in it though and that was so very convenient! And oh goodness..I am pretty much in love with any city that has actually has an obvious change for the four seasons! But I don’t think I could actually live somewhere where it snowed…I think I would last maybe a day? haha. I think Pike’s Place in Seattle is pretty cool though and I love San Diego for some beach time! 🙂 Have fun in Denver! I’ve only driven through there, but when I did it was beautiful.

  5. Welcome to Denver!!! The weather couldn’t be better for you too 🙂 I think tomorrow is suppose to be warmer. Enjoy the city and even you need any recommendations, let me know!

  6. I love hotels, which is a little weird come to think of it…I’m a big fan of Hiltons because I know I can trust them.

  7. Glad to hear you’re having a good time :). I haven’t really traveled hahaha that is sad writing that. But I’ve been dying to go to Denver, and I think that one day I will end up there. Btw, I love that picture of you and your mom, the both of you look super cute!!

  8. Um, I love that two of your favorite cities are in Utah 🙂 I love Salt Lake, Logan, Lake Tahoe (city?) and Boston
    Have so much fun!!
