I lost count of how many miles and how many hours we walked on Saturday!! WOW!
We jumped on the metro to head from Brooklyn to Central Park. We had to walk a little bit from the metro stop to the south end of the park, and I LOVED seeing all the runners heading to the park or dripping sweat coming back from the park! So many runners!! I wanted to wave and smile at them all haha
We ran really really slow and casually for about 20 mins in the park, stopping taking pics, and filing ridiculous videos of ourselves singing and dancing– typical sister/best friend things!
After spending about an hour in the park, we started walking south to Times Square via 6th ave.
I found Times Square to be absolutely ridiculous and crowded and overwhelming with annoying tourist and just…. Flashy, you know? But ya, I expected that ha we just were passing through! It was a long walk but I love walking! We were in Our running gear so it was good 🙂
We continued south, and meandered our way to Greenwich Village/NYU area where we finally had lunch at about 1:30.
Even though we were stuffed, we headed straight to Peanut Butter and Co. Cafe where we got the sampler of all different kinds of pb!! That is the pb I eat on the daily so this was a VERY exciting deal for me!! ((Pics below!))
We then rushed off south again (walking of course), racing to get to our 9/11 memorial 3pm reservation.
Wow. It was really moving and emotional to be in the financial district and imagine what it was like for the city on sept. 11, 2001. We hung around there for a while, taking it in, and went to Saint Paul’s church that was miraculously left standing– but showered with debris from the WTC’s.
We then decided to keep up with the whole “lets walk everywhere!” theme and headed to the Brooklyn bridge to get back to Gretch’s apartment. While on the bridge we saw a photo shoot of a gorgeous model! It was so cool! I of course was a creeper and a tourist and snapped a photo! She is the really really really beautiful girl in the pics below… Shouldn’t be too hard to pick out!
On the other side, we last minute decided to buy cheap tickets for Cinderella on broadway for an 8pm show!
So we hustled back, showered, and hopped back on the metro to Time Square and the theater!
It was so fun and so entertaining! The lead was INCREDIBLE!
We were absolutely exhausted and got home around 11:30 and hit the hay!
Some out-of-order pictures!!
That is all for Saturday!! More on our Sunday adventures to come! 🙂
