The Fun and Beautiful Things in Life!

These last few day of super down-in-the-dumps posts (Here and Here) are just not the usual me!! I am a happy, silly, kind, ambitious, strong-headed, adventurous women of God!

Therefore… lets talk about the fun and beautiful things in life!

A few things from Yesterday…..

Yesterday, my mom and I went to my favorite lunch spot, Jason’s Deli! If you have never been here… oh my goodness GO! If you love fresh fresh salads/veggies/sandwhiches/soups…with endless amounts of FREE soft serve ice cream after your meal, then this is the place for you!! I barely remembered to take a picture of my salad so it was half eaten.  Oh and did I mention it is buffet style salad bar? Meaning you get to pile on the veggies, then go back for seconds, and thirds… and… ya, you get it. YUMM.

Ugly picture… but oh so good salad!!!

Also yesterday, I did a very short and easy 4 miles with my dad and some of our running friends, then had a little date just me and the padre! I had a fresh salmon salad that was delicious!

AND… I followed this up with both frozen greek yogurt AND vanilla ice cream with added mixed berries!! Go me 🙂

…and a few things for Today….

Today marks a new day… a fresh start to think more positively and be joyful in all I do!

I am going to a Yoga class this morning (teacher is mean and intimidating but it is a great class!)

Then my grandma invited my mom and I to her posh country club for swimming and lunch! This is the grandma who throws elegant parties for no reasons… The club has a lap pool and I hope to get in some swimming since I havn’t swam in AGES and apparently I am doing an olympic distance Triathlon in just a couple weeks. Oops! No time like the present to start training!!

…and a few things for this weekend!

My mom and I are planning on heading to southern Indiana and doing some hiking/biking at Brown County State Park, which, despite being in Indiana, isn’t too shabby! I mean, it ain’t no Rocky Mountains or even Smokey Mountains, but it is hilly and beautiful with some nationally recognized mountain biking trails!!

I am still pretty tired (and sore from painting a second layer on the porch) but I hope to practice a bit of biking then immediately running on Saturday or Sunday… this always makes me feel crippled. My legs are so confused when I get off the bike and try to force them to run. They just don’t understand why I would do that to them haha

Have a blessed day everyone and try to make today a GOOD day despite all the negativity in the world and the hard times we have going on in our lives! Lets make the decision to be joyful and spread some love today!!

What are you going to do that makes you smile?

What are your weekend plans?

Any thoughts on trying to run after biking and how much it hurts haha?!?

  4. Sounds like an awesome weekend ahead! I have an 11 miler on the schedule tomorrow morning…think I may have to get out there at 5am to beat the crazy heat we are having! Then, I am planning a pretty calm rest of the weekend…pool time, reading some books etc. 🙂

  5. My IT bands always hurt after I bike, and running post bike ride seems to really help loosen them up and shake off the ouchiness. 🙂
I’m a major fan of Jason’s Deli…….salad bar for the WIN!

    1. Wow usually IT bands hurt from running and biking loosens them up… but awesome that running after riding helps!
