Don’t tell ANYONE…

Yesterday I started off my morning with a great breakfast of Greek Yogurt with a cut up Banana and (a few) handfuls of granola and Special K cereal. Oh, and of course a few (or more) apples because I don’t know what my day looks like without them. And coffee. Duhh, that is a given for me 🙂

Isn’t this coffee mug a thing of beauty?? My new Young Life mug in happy yellow, filled to the brim with Brazil coffee from Earth Fare!

I went to the gym for the first time since before leaving for Michigan and I suffered through some basic lifting/abs/push-ups/kettle bell swings/lunges/squats. Boy am I out of shape! But that is OK, it just felt great to sweat!

My excited motivational hard-core pose… ha ya right…

OK. So please don’t tell anyone I did this next thing…

…especially my Sports Performance Doctor. He would be slightly frustrated with me… and don’t tell my mom either– she is as scary as my doctor….

but I don’t care, because I RAN PAIN FREE TODAY!!!

I was going to go on a long walk as my dad and his running buddy ran, but literally as I put in my Ipod and watched them run away from me, I got so sad that I shouted “Wait!!” and ran up to them and just said “Lets do this!” I was very careful to listen to my body and promised myself I would stop if I felt any pain. Well, 5.2 (ish) miles later, I finished the run (very out of breath I might add) and was on cloud nine! Man it felt great to get some running endorphins again!! Whoo-hoo!! ((Wow, clearly I still have them…I don’t do many ‘whoo-hoo’s’…))

I was very winded and could definitely tell that I had not done any cardio in 3.5 weeks. It also didn’t help that I am still recovering from my sinus infection and have lots of yummy flem/mucus in my lungs ((gross sorry that was TMI…))

I finished up my day deep cleaning my car. Please stay tuned for some serious details regarding deep car cleaning. This is very important… a clean car feels like a new car and takes years off its life. Fact.

Have a great day everyone!!

Thoughts on whether or not I should have run?? Am I a bad patient??

What is your favorite breakfast??

  2. Yay for running pain free! I had shin splints a TON last year, so I know firsthand how much they suck! Ugh! My allergies have been just awful this year, so you’re not the only one! I just run through it though. I love that runner’s high at the end of the run where you are so out of breath but so happy at the same time!

    1. YES! the runners high is worth everything!! I hope you are able to keep your shin splints at a bearable pain so you can keep running!!
